Oulton Park set for endurance epic this Saturday

Sunday, July 04 2010

The Hottrax Endurance Bike Championships rumble into Oulton Park this Saturday (10 July) for two mammoth endurance races.

Both feature teams of two or more riders and bikes, are three hours in duration with a Le Mans style start, with one rider holding the bike at a 45 degree angle while the other runs across the track at the start of the race.

With such a long race distance, individual talent alone is not enough, and team work, strategy and pace play a pivotal role in success.

The event will start off with practice and qualifying sessions in the morning before the opening race.

The first event will be the National Endurance for seasoned veterans, while the Junior endurance will follow, featuring younger and less experienced riders.

The series provides cost efficient racing and an alternative to the shorter sprint style races that are stereotypical with motorcycle racing.

Tickets for the Hottrax Endurance Bike Championships at Oulton Park on 10 July are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
