Sunday, June 06 2010

Historic sports car fans are in for a treat this weekend (12 June) when the Classic Sports Car Club visits Oulton Park.

The CSCC is one of the younger clubs in the country having been set up in 2001, but has grown rapidly to over 600 members with over ten race meetings a year.

Six races, each of 40 minutes in duration will be run on Saturday, with mandatory pit stops to allow for driver changes.

Featuring this weekend is the Swinging 60s series featuring a mix of sports, saloons and GT cars produced in the 1960's, and Tin Tops, a series aimed at novices and exhibiting a range of cars from the iconic Mini Cooper to more modern Honda Civic Type Rs.

Also in action on Saturday is the Future Classics for sports, saloon and GT cars from the 1970's and 1980's, the Magnificent Sevens for Caterham and Lotus Seven type cars, the new for 2010 Classic K series for GT and Touring cars built prior to 1966, and the Jaguar XJ and Saloon championships.

Tickets for the British Racing and Sports Car Club Championships at Oulton Park on 12 June are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children ages 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
