Fun Cup endurance thriller geared up for Oulton Park

Sunday, October 10 2010

A four hour race from the Fun Cup is the highlight this Saturday (16 October) at Oulton Park as the British Racing and Sports Car Club prepares for a visit to Cheshire.

The Fun Cup series was launched in the UK in 2002, with the clearly defined objective of providing cost effective and close racing.

The cars are race designed single-seaters, with space frame chassis and either a130bhp or 160bhp VW/Audi petrol engine, with a 5 speed gearbox, race brakes and fully adjustable suspension, all inside a highly recognisable VW Beetle shell.

You will find a mix of experienced veterans and novices on the grid, generally making for unpredictable and exciting racing, with the four hour race meaning outright speed will have to be mixed with tactics and reliability in order to secure outright honours.

Also featuring this weekend is the BRS Recovery Ford XR Challenge and the final round of the Dunlop TVR Challenge.

Tickets for the British Racing and Sports Car Club Championships at Oulton Park on 16 October are available from 10 for adults, with free entry for children ages 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
