Judgement day: Kiyo leads warm up

Sunday, October 10 2010

HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari followed up his race win from yesterday by topping the times in this afternoon's warm up session for the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship ahead of the title deciding final two races later today.

The session was red flagged for oil inspection at Lodge when Tommy Bridewell had a technical problem with four minutes of the session remaining. As the flags came out to halt the session it was Josh Brookes who had set the pace from championship leader Tommy Hill.

Kiyonari was soon out on a track and went faster than team-mate and Title Fighter rival Brookes on his final lap to displace him from the top of the timesheets. James Ellison moved up the order in the closing seconds to move third, as did his Swan Honda team-mate Stuart Easton who snatched fourth to drop Hill to fifth.

Gary Mason had been the fastest rider on track in the opening minutes and he ended sixth fastest from Simon Andrews and then Title Fighter Michael Laverty in eighth for the Relentless Suzuki team. Dan Linfoot and Michael Rutter rounded out the top ten as the anticipation for the second race of the weekend builds at Oulton Park.
