Variety aplenty from Oulton Park BARC meeting this Saturday

Sunday, May 22 2011

There's a race card packed with variety at Oulton Park this Saturday (28 May) as karts, single seaters, saloons and sportscars take to the challenging Cheshire track.

James Thorp has eked out a lead in the Formula Renault BARC Championship but with four drivers jockeying for position behind, there's everything to play for this weekend.

The Honda VTEC Challenge is a multi-class series for Honda performance cars and as well as production Civics, Integras and Accords, features a Tuner Class that includes entries from ex-BTCC cars.

The Chevron GR8 Challenge grid, for the rejuvenated north east-based manufacturer's new sportscar, is joined this season by the Crossle 9S sports racer to compete a fabulous combination of two evocative motorsport names.

The local North West Centre Sports/Saloon Championship features a variety of classes and amongst them, Paul Dobson holds a narrow lead over Robert Spencer and Cam Forbes. Cars range from Austin Minis to a Lotus Esprit, so there's sure to be something out there to catch the eye.

Finally, Karts provide frantic action and are always a sight to behold on a full-blown racing circuit. It all adds up to a day of variety and action!
