Festive fun run at Oulton Park this December!

Wednesday, November 27 2013

The annual Oulton Park 'Santa Dash' takes place on Sunday 8 December, allowing fans of the legendary Cheshire venue to get into the Christmas spirit and raise funds for St Luke's Hospice in Winsford.

The charity's fifth annual Santa Dash will feature hundreds of Santas running, walking, cycling, and scooting around the circuit, with competitors of all ages invited to take on either a 5k or 3k challenge. The youngest competitor last year was a 36-hour-old infant, who understandably stayed in a pushchair throughout!

An innovation for this year is a team 'bed push' where teams of five people (four pushing and one in the bed) can attempt to push a hospital bed around the course, with likely hilarious consequences!  There are still places left for teams in this event.

It's a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with the same tarmac that has provided a stage for names such as Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Stirling Moss and Jim Clark.

Registration is £12 per adult and £5 for children under 14. All adult entrants receive a free santa suit while youngsters receive festive headwear.

A full Christmas market will be at the event with food stands and gift stalls, while freshly cut Nordman Christmas trees will also be available to purchase.

The venue will be open from 11am to 3.30pm with the dash starting at 12 noon. The 2012 event raised £11,000 for charity, adding to the total so far of £51,000.
