Gold Cup entry list and latest timetable now available

Friday, August 15 2014

With just over a week to go until this year's running of the Oulton Park Gold Cup, we've unveiled the full entry list as it stands for all the races set to take place over Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday. You can also download the latest event timetable here and a venue layout map by clicking here.

One of the highlights will be the latest rounds of the HSCC Super Touring Car Championship, featuring many of the cars that competed in the halcyon days of the BTCC. Touring Car legend John Cleland has entered in his Vauxhall Vectra, and the grid will be filled with examples from Audi, Nissan, BMW and more.

The Derek Bell Trophy meanwhile has an excellent entry of nearly 30 big single seaters, including many Formula 5000s - hailed as some of the best-sounding cars ever raced. Examples include a McLaren M10B, as raced by Peter Gethin, a Lola T400 and Chevron's first F5000 car, the B24, which has the distinction of being the only F5000 to win a race against F1 car, when Peter Gethin won the 1973 Race of Champions.

Other standout grids include the HSCC/HRSR ByBox Historic Touring Cars, with well over 30 entries including Lotus Cortinas, Austin Minis and Hillman Imps, and the Guards Trophy Race   for GT cars, featuring many Jaguar E-types, Lotus Elans and MGBs.

The racing is just one part of the Gold Cup, which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2014. There's plenty for the whole family to enjoy on and off track on Sunday and Monday, with air and military displays, huge car club displays, a vintage fair, playground and Group B rally demos.
