Important spectator information about this weeekend's Mini Festival

Wednesday, July 09 2014

If you are heading to this  Saturday's Oulton Park Mini Festival, here is some important information to help you make the most of your trip to the circuit.

Gate opening times

Public admission to the circuit is from 7:00am on Saturday.

All public car parks are free of charge. Mini owners will be directed to a special parking area on arrival to take part in the display.

Kids can learn to drive in a MINI!

10 minute taster YoungDrive sessions can be purchased at the booth at the rally hut near to the main entrance for £30, giving 11-17-year-olds an early driving lesson in a MINI One alongside a DSA-approved instructor.

You will need to bring your original tickets to the circuit as copies and receipts are not accepted. All advance tickets have now been dispatched and were sent by either Recorded or Special Delivery, meaning a signature is required.

In the rare instance that your tickets have not arrived in time you will need to purchase them at the gate price and obtain a refund after the event by returning the gate ticket stubs and your original tickets to the venue office.

Please have your tickets separated before arriving at the gate.

Official event programmes are on sale from the Programme Booth opposite Chequers Restaurant and from the entry gates at East Gate and Knickerbrook for £5. Each programme features articles on the event along with entry lists and information on the racing timetable.

Weekend camping

The campsite will open at midday on Friday 11 July and will close at 21:00 Saturday. Camping is free of charge but please note that no facilities are provided.

Grid walk

A free grid walk will take place at around 13:05 on Saturday prior to the Mini Challenge race. Please queue at the gate at the start of the pitlane, beside the podium inside the paddock.

Off track entertainment

Russ Swift will be performing his stunt show on a special arena inside the paddock, next to the Chequers restaurant. The show times are 10:30, 12:00 and 15:00.

Minis will be on display inside the venue, including a special Mini collection near to the rally stages. The rally stage will feature demonstrations throughout the day. The rally stage can be found near the Oulton Park entrance.

Local band The Distance will be performing twice during the day, once at 11:00 and again at 13:00. The stage is situated within the trade village.

Mini parade

All Mini owners are invited to join the parade around the circuit at the end of the day, expected to take place at 17:45. Drivers must be in possession of a full driving licence and must be at their Mini by 17:30. The cars will then be led from the parking area to the track.
