Revamped route unveiled for Neil Howard rally at Oulton Park

Monday, October 27 2014

Stage maps for the Neil Howard Memorial Stages Rally at Oulton Park on Saturday 8 November have been unveiled, revealing a completely revamped route comprising ten bespoke rally stages.

Major additions to the route include a super special stage on the circuit's infield tarmac rally course and a water splash, creating plenty of spectacular viewing opportunities. The final super special stage of the day will take place as darkness falls, adding the excitement of evening rallying and cars with headlights ablaze.

This is the only time this year that you can see cars driving around Oulton Park in the 'wrong' direction, with half of the circuit-based stages running counter-clockwise. All three of the circuit's layouts will be in use at points throughout the day, creating a unique series of challenges for the drivers, from the technical hairpins at Shell and Island, to the deceptively tricky Fosters corner. Contestants must also negotiate several temporary chichanes, which will test the cars' braking and manoeuvrability.

Stage maps for the event can be viewed here.

Spectators will be able to absorb all of the sights and sounds of a working rally service area in the open paddock, witnessing all the tinkering that goes on between stages.

A bumper off-track line-up is headlined by a fireworks display and bonfire, which will start immediately after the rally. Other attractions include Group B rally and Autosolo demonstrations, a fairground, and free face painting for kids.

Tickets for the Neil Howard Memorial Stages Rally and Fireworks at Oulton Park on 8 November are available online for £10 with free entry for under-13s. For more information please call 0843 453 9000 or click here
