Diverse race programme at Oulton Park this Easter

Monday, February 22 2016

Oulton Park will play host to family-friendly Easter Funday on Bank Holiday Monday 28 March and, whilst there will be a great emphasis on off-track activities, there will be plenty of on-track entertainment to enjoy on the rarely-used Fosters circuit too!

VAG Trophy

The race programme will be headlined by the VAG Trophy, for saloon and hatchback cars falling under the Volkswagen Group banner. These tin top chargers always put on a good show and, with a BTCC-style ballast system keeping everyone close together, you can expect to see the momentum shifting between drivers from race to race.

Single-seaters will star in Monoposto which recalls a bygone era of diversity in single-seater racing with no fewer than seven different classes, opening up the grid to a wide variety of machines from Formula Fords to Formula Three Cars. With class victories up for grabs, you can expect to see plenty of fierce racing throughout the pack.

BRSCC Ford XR Challenge

The BRSCC Ford XR Challenge is one of the country's longest running one-make saloon car championships. It remains a favourite in racing circles for its selection of retro Ford machines and close racing.

Northern Sports and Saloon Car Championship

The Northern Sports and Saloon Car Championship is a well-supported category for tin tops and lightweight track specials. A wide variety of cars will take part, offering an interesting and mixed up selection of cars for the fans to enjoy.

F1 Demonstrations

In addition to a high-octane race programme, there will be demonstrations from genuine Grand Prix cars. These will include a Benetton 190 and 193, cars that were driven in period by Nelson Piquet and Michael Schumacher respectively.

Easter Funday is about much more than just racing though, and there will be plenty of other attractions to keep all of the family entertained throughout the event. These will include a jousting show from the Knights of Middle England, family entertainment from the Flying Seagulls in the Big Top tent, an Artisan Market from the Market Co, a Mega Easter Egg Hunt, and a funfair.

There will also be opportunities for guests to get behind the wheel themselves with the RallyMaster Toyota GT86 and MudMaster Land Rover Defender experiences. 11-17-year-olds can experience a spot of underage driving in a MINI too with YoungDrive!

Tickets for Easter Funday at Oulton Park are on sale now with free entry for under-13s and discounted entry for 13-15-year-olds. For more information, please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
