British GT and F3 set to provide high-speed thrills at Oulton Park

Sunday, May 22 2016

Cheshire's Oulton Park hosts the British GT Championship and BRDC British Formula 3 Championship this bank holiday weekend (Saturday 28 May and Monday 30 May), bringing a mouth-watering selection of supercars and the next generation of aspiring Grand Prix stars to the picturesque Tarporley setting.

The British GT Championship features arguably the most exciting cars in national motor racing, with stunning supercars from manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Bentley, Aston Martin, McLaren and Maserati. These flame-spitting monsters possess impressive performance figures, high-end aerodynamic bodywork, and sumptuous engine tones.

The GTs will star in two one-hour headline races on Bank Holiday Monday, blending the excitement and drama of flat out racing from a high-speed rolling start with the intrigue of pit-stops, driver changes, and strategic decisions.

BRDC British F3 is all about nurturing the talents of aspiring single-seater aces with dreams of Grand Prix racing. This is a landmark year for the recently-revamped championship, with a new Tatuus-designed carbon fibre car carrying British single-seater racing into a new era. BRDC British F3 will race three times across the weekend, featuring one reverse-grid start to spice up the order and encourage overtaking.

There will be plenty for guests to enjoy off the circuit, including a massive supercar display starring machines from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Aston Martin. Plus, there will be activities such as free face-painting for the little ones, and a funfair for those seeking an added thrill.

There will be an eclectic support race programme too, featuring a blend of modern sports and saloon car races, with one-make fixtures for prestigious marques such as Aston Martin, and even a spot of historic racing.

Tickets for the British GT and F3 Championships at Oulton Park on 28 & 30 May are available online from £19, or £12 for 13-15 year-olds, with free entry for under-13s. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
