Blockbuster BTCC title race heads to Oulton Park

Monday, May 08 2017

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Championship roars into Oulton Park on 20/21 May and with the title race heating up, it's set to be a scorcher in Cheshire. Discounted advance tickets are available, saving up to £14 on the gate price and under-13s go free!

Following last weekend's rounds at Thruxton, Northwich's Speedworks leads the title race with hotshot driver Tom Ingram at the wheel of their Toyota, but their rivals are closing in. Wins for Honda's Matt Neal, plus BMW's Rob Collard and Colin Turkington have opened up the championship.

With 67 points on offer at Oulton Park, the top seven drivers are all within stirking distance of the title lead. Reigning champion Gordon Shedden (Honda) is in second place, whilst Blackburn's Adam Morgan (Mercedes) and Jack Goff (Honda) are also aiming strike gold in Cheshire.

The BTCC's huge 32-car grid contains five champions and 17 race-winners, so expect the unexpected on main raceday Sunday's three rounds. Oulton Park's annual round is traditionally the championship's most popular event with a festival atmosphere around the venue, and its lively campsite.

The event also includes a packed support bill featuring the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, Renault UK Clio Cup, Ginetta GT4 Supercup, Ginetta Juniors and British F4, plus a fun fair, trade village and free children's playground.
