Oulton Park British GT: Meeting abandoned

Monday, April 02 2018

The remainder of Oulton Park's Easter Monday British GT Championship programme has been abandoned, including the weekend's final GT race.

Senior Clerk of the Course David Scott, MSA Steward Greg Masters and British GT Race Director Peter Daly have collectively taken the decision to abandon the rest of today's (Monday 2 April) British GT and BRDC British F3 race meeting at Oulton Park on the grounds of safety due to the adverse weather conditions.

The race initially started under behind the safety car in wet conditions, with pole position man Phil Keen at the head of the field. Jonny Adam, who was supposed to start alongside him failed to start on time after an incident in the difficult conditions and it quickly became apparent that the situation wouldn't improve.

Following four laps behind the safety car, the race was red-flagged and ultimately abandoned. NO result was declared as no racing laps were completed.
