Macleod and Loggie lead British GT FP1 at Oulton Park

Saturday, April 20 2019

Callum Macleod and Ian Loggie's RAM Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 topped the opening free practice session of the Easter British GT Championship weekend at Oulton Park this morning (Saturday).

Second place went to the first of the new Aston Martin V8 Vantages, in the hands of Danish Le Mans ace Nicki Thiim who shares the TF Sport run machine with Mark Farmer. The top three was completed by Richard Neary and Adam Christodoulou in a second Mercedes-AMG.

The revamped Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVOs were next up, with Sam De Haan and Johnny Cocker's machine lapping just half a second off the pace, just a tenth faster than Adam Balon and Phil Keen's simlar machine.

The BMW M6 offically entered the British GT fray in sixth position in Dominic Paul and Ben Green's hands, whilst the reunited 2017 champions Rick Parfitt and Seb Morris were seventh quickest in the new Bentley Continental GT3.

Reigning chamopion Jonny Adam was eighth fastest in the Aston Martin he shares with Graham Davidson, just ahead of the new McLaren 720S of Shaun Balfe and Rob Bell, and the Aston Martin of Andrew Howard and Marco Sorensen, which completed the top-ten.
