Three-time BTCC champion Shedden returns for 2021

Friday, March 05 2021

Team Dynamics  has confirmed that Gordon  Shedden will  re-join the  squad for the 2021 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

The three-time BTCC champion returns to the UK's leading car racing series for the first time since 2017, following a three-season hiatus, including two years racing on the global stage.

Prior to that, the Scotsman had raced regularly in the BTCC since 2006, missing just a hanful of meetings in more than a decade. Shedden won the overall title in 2012, 2015, and 2016 and now returns to the same team with which he's claimed all 48 of his race victories.

Shedden  said: "I can't wait to get back in the  car I have kept in touch with the team throughout and obviously jumped in the car early in 2020, when Matt was injured, and it felt great.  That was the first time I had driven the new  car and it felt right from the off.

"I've  been keeping an eye on the Championship, and it looks mega competitive, but my fight and determination is as high as it's ever  been, so I'll be giving it my all."

Five of the BTCC's 10 events will take place at MSV venues in 2021.
